Solway House, a charming residential care home for the elderly in Maryport, Cumbria, has been successfully sold to FRA Property Solutions Ltd, in a deal facilitated by leading healthcare business broker Redwoods Dowling Kerr.
The home is a detached, period property spanning two floors in a convenient and accessible location. It is registered for 18 residents and currently operates with 17 bedrooms, including 14 en-suite facilities and a two-bedroom private accommodation. The property has been sympathetically converted and extended, providing versatile and well-presented accommodation for residents.
The care home has earned a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC and enjoys a strong reputation in the local community. Current occupancy is full, with 70% of residents funded by local authorities and 30% privately.
The sale was concluded through a relatively fast process, with the completing offer made less than a week from the initial viewing of the property. The transaction was led by Bradley Wilson, Sales Negotiator at Healthcare, who identified the ideal buyer and guided the sale to completion.
