Long established pre-school sold to first-time buyers

Jack and Jill Pre-School, located in Buckinghamshire, has been sold to first-time buyers after high interest, with Redwoods Dowling Kerr advising the sale.

The pre-school is registered for 30 children, aged between 2 and 5 and operates during term time. The setting has earned an excellent reputation for its services, receiving a ‘Good’ assessment from Ofsted in its most recent inspection.

The setting is a pillar of the local community due to the excellent care provided and the accessible location, with excellent surrounding travel links that ensure all parents can travel to the setting.

Additionally, the pre-school has a 5-star hygiene kitchen that provides children with high-quality, fresh meals. The setting is also home to a sizeable garden with a playhouse and shed that encourages children to play outdoors safely.

After establishing the business in 1980, the current owner decided now was the right time to take their well-deserved retirement and instructed RDK in the sale of the pre-school. RDK’s marketing campaign generated high levels of interest in the business, with 15 viewings and 4 offers received.

The buyers were keen to acquire an established setting and have been interested in the sector for several years. The buyers share very similar values to the vendor, with the buyers admiring what the vendor has built over the decades and recognise that the pre-school is an integral part of the community, something they are extremely keen to continue with.

Upon completion of the sale, the vendor said: “I am pleased with my experience and Kim kept me informed as the sale went along; I always felt like she was acting in my best interest. It was the right time for me to sell as I was retiring after 40 years and was looking for a buyer with similar values to myself which RDK found for me. Kim has been nothing but patient and supportive”.

Expert Sales Negotiator Kim Emsley said: “I am extremely pleased for all involved. I will miss speaking with the vendor, with whom we built a good working relationship and who has absolutely earned her retirement. I know it was a difficult choice to sell but one that felt right. A huge congratulations to the buyers also, I want to thank them both for their commitment and patience and have no doubt in my mind that they will be successful in their new venture”.
