Redwoods Dowling Kerr is pleased to announce the successful completion of the sale of Gwynfa Lodge Care Home, a group of three residential care homes in North Wales, to established operator Skyline Care Ltd.
The group comprises Towyn Capel Residential Home in Trearddur Bay, alongside Gwynfa Residential Home and Gwynfa II The Lodge near Caernarfon. Together, the homes provide residential care for adults including those living with dementia and other complex care needs, supporting residents across a total registered capacity of 73 individuals. Each home offers a comfortable and homely environment with scenic surroundings and facilities designed to support residents’ wellbeing and independence.
The business has a long-standing history within the region, with the first home originally acquired by the Langford family in 1987. The group later expanded with the addition of Gwynfa Residential Home in 1995 and Gwynfa II The Lodge, which reopened in 2011 following refurbishment. Under the ownership of Marian Langford and her husband, the homes developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care within their local communities.
All three homes are registered with Care Inspectorate Wales and have received positive outcomes in their most recent inspections.
The homes benefit from established relationships with local authorities and provide an important service within the region. Residents are encouraged to maintain independence and personal choice, with activities and social opportunities forming part of the supportive environment offered by the homes.
Redwoods Dowling Kerr oversaw the sale on behalf of the clients, who made the decision to exit the business to facilitate their retirement after many years of dedication to the care sector. Solicitors Elsie Lyford and James Corrigan at Barcan+Kirby LLP advised the sellers.
The transaction was managed and negotiated by Karrina Lee, Senior Sales Negotiator for Healthcare at RDK, who also identified the ideal buyer.
Karrina Lee said: “These homes are a well-established care offering in North Wales, with a proud history of supporting residents and their families. It was a pleasure working with the owners and completing the sale to Skyline Care Ltd, an experienced operator committed to maintaining the excellent standard of care. I’d also like to thank the seller’s solicitors for their clear and consistent communication throughout the transaction.”
The buyer stated: “I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism and support we received from the sales team throughout the process.
“A special mention must go to Karrina, who was absolutely excellent from start to finish. Buying care homes is a complex process with many moving parts, but Karrina handled everything with exceptional professionalism, patience, and efficiency. Her knowledge of the sector, attention to detail, and commitment to getting the transaction across the line made a huge difference. At every stage, she demonstrated genuine care and dedication, which gave us confidence during what could otherwise have been a very stressful process.”
