Gwastad Hall Nursing Home, based in Wrexham, has been sold to corporate healthcare operators, advised by Redwoods Dowling Kerr.

The nursing home is registered for 38 residents was established by the present family owners back in 1987.

During that time, the home has earned a truly enviable reputation for providing quality care, support, development and dignity within a warm, friendly environment.

Gwastad Hall Nursing Home operates from a substantial and highly visible detached 19th century stone former country home which has been carefully converted and significantly extended offering deceptively spacious and versatile resident’s accommodation.

The business subsequently demonstrates a strong trading record with historically high occupancy levels at or approaching capacity whilst also enjoying continual referrals and recommendations.

There is a compliment of experienced, long standing qualified carers in place which is another factor of the homes on-going success and reputation.

Having managed the nursing home for more than 30 years, the vendor wished to sell her business and she instructed Redwoods Dowling Kerr in the sale.

After a comprehensive marketing and research campaign using our bespoke strategies, Gwastad Hall Nursing Home was sold to corporate healthcare operators, who saw the care home as a bolt-on acquisition alongside their existing business.

Upon completion of the sale, the Vendor said: “My husband and I started up our nursing home more than 33 years ago and was very personal to us.

“Due to very unforeseen circumstances such as the Covid-19 pandemic and then the loss of my husband, this was not an ‘easy’ or straightforward sale.

“Throughout this time RDK have remained very professional. Asif, in particular, has gone beyond his professionalism and has been very supportive throughout this difficult time for me.

“His knowledge and experience helped me through ‘unknown waters’ to me, and even when office was closed, due to the lockdown, he always remained available.

“The final completion was a bittersweet relief knowing that my husband is not here to see ‘our baby’ move on so we could retire, but he would have been happy with the outcome and the buyers.

“I would highly recommend Redwoods Dowling Kerr. Thank you, Asif.”

Healthcare Negotiator, Asif Musa, said: “It has been a pleasure working with our client for all the hard work she has put in during these difficult times to get the sale over the line.

“It has been an excellent result for all concerned. I wish my client all the best with her retirement.”
