Fledgelings Nursery sold to first-time buyer

Fledgelings Nursery sold to first-time buyer

Kent-based Fledgelings Nursery has been sold to first-time buyer Sana Jasim, advised by Redwoods Dowling Kerr.

The nursery was first established in the 1990s and was acquired by our client in 2004. Since then, the nursery has been extensively renovated internally to produce a welcoming space for children.

Fledgelings Nursery is registered for 30 children from age 2 to 5, with various amenities such as enclosed gardens, a large kitchen and a variety of equipment. The nursery operates from a local community centre with access to local playing fields that the children are welcome to utilise.

Under the current ownership, the nursery has cemented an excellent reputation with local families for its accessibility and for providing exemplary levels of childcare. The setting’s excellent childcare provisions were recognised by Ofsted, with the nursery receiving a ‘Good’ assessment in its last inspection.

After renovating and establishing the setting as a leading childcare provider in the local area, our client placed Fledgelings on the market in order to facilitate their retirement and instructed Redwoods Dowling Kerr in the sale. The bespoke marketing campaign and sector knowledge generated high levels of interest in the setting.

Fledgelings was sold to Sana Jasim, a first-time buyer with 4 years’ previous experience in the sector. Sana Jasim intends to retain the Fledgelings name with the potential for the business to increase the registered capacity and look to regularly advertise the setting to grow.

The buyer said: “I would recommend Redwoods Dowling Kerr, Kim and her team have been excellent and very helpful. I hope to work with RDK again for any future purchases and I am excited to have completed the deal after looking for over 2 years to find the right opportunity”.

Sales Negotiator Kim Emsley said: “It has been a pleasure to deal with both parties. The vendor wanted to find a buyer that carried the business forward whilst retaining the ethos and surroundings that was created previously and we are pleased we could achieve that. I want to wish the vendor the best of luck and good luck to the buyer on her new acquisition”.
