Gemcare South West Sold by Redwoods Dowling Kerr

Founded in 2013 by the vendors, Gemcare South West promptly garnered a reputation for domiciliary care excellence within Plymouth and South Devon. Encouraged by the local authorities to provide a high-quality and adaptable care provision, a service sorely demanded within the area, Gemcare quickly provided a substantial amount of weekly care hours; the company was regularly awarded further contracts and requests to assist existing providers.

Now catering for over 800 services users with an excess of 8,000 hours of exemplary care provided per week, Gemcare South West is the largest domiciliary care and extra care provider in Plymouth. Internalising the ethos of ensuring clients retain their dignity and independence, each client is treated with respect whilst their needs are seamlessly met through the implementation of a bespoke care plan.

Facilitating the vast quantity of care provided whilst maintaining the excellent level of care that Gemcare is renowned for is a team of over 400 employees, making the company the largest employer in Plymouth for domiciliary care. Through a comprehensive in-house training course, clients are ensured that every member of staff they receive care from will be highly trained and deeply compassionate.

Once the difficult decision to sell the business was made, the owners asked market leaders Redwoods Dowling Kerr to conduct the sale of Gemcare South West. Following a thoughtful marketing campaign, the business was promptly sold to an existing industry operator with aspirations to maintain the excellent standard of care offered.
