Mountside Residential Care Home Is Acquired by an Existing Operator

15 years ago, the vendor of Mountside Residential Care Home recognised a need for dependable residential care in the East Sussex area. They founded the home with the aspiration to offer a consistently high standard of care for the elderly. The home provides a welcoming, comfortable and caring environment for its clients, featuring 52 residents’ bedrooms and en suite facilities.

The previous vendor greatly reinvested in the care home, undertaking consistent redevelopment projects for the home. Most notably, in 2005 the vendor spent £1.2m to construct a substantial extension to the property. The extension took 18 months to build, and this transformed Mountside Residential Care Home into the luxurious and modern care home that it is today.

Operated by a highly trained team of professional care staff, their high standards of care have resulted in the setting earning a ‘Good’ report from the Care Quality Commission upon its most recent inspection. As a result of its excellent reputation in the area, Mountside Residential Care Home continuously receives a high number of regular referrals, attracting many of its clients through word of mouth.

Due to a change of circumstances and a desire to focus on new opportunities, the vendor came to the decision that it was time to move on, and they approached Redwoods Dowling Kerr to handle the sale of the home. Once on the market, the business attracted 5 viewings and 5 offers, with the successful bid coming from an experienced sector operative. The purchaser already owns a large care home in the local area and chose to acquire Mountside Residential Care Home to expand their portfolio in the area.
