Chatter Tots acquire a new nursery setting via Redwoods Dowling Kerr

A respected former day nursery in Kemsley, Kent is now under new ownership.

This former day nursery sits in a prime trading position. It operates out of a spacious and practical premise. It is situated within a populated residential location and is close to a commercial district, giving it an excellent catchment area of customers, a lot of which commute to London on a daily basis from the local train station.

Established in 2012 by Claire Elliott-Hare, it has developed and consolidated a superb reputation for the quality of the care provided within the setting. The nursery was originally only open term time but could now open all year round, with extended hours under the terms of the lease.

Placed on the market by Redwoods Dowling Kerr due to the previous vendor’s desire to spend more time with family, it generated a substantial amount of interest. After 11 viewings and 4 offers, the highly desirable nursery setting was acquired by Michelle Matthews, an experienced sector operative. She is the Director of the Gravesend based nursery group Chatter Tots, and has previous experience working as a nursery manager and teacher.

The potential of the site was what ultimately drove the acquisition. The new vendor plans to fully renovate the site and incorporate it into her company’s settings. It is situated in a good trading location, so when the nursery reopens, the buyer plans to deliver the highest level of childcare in the local community.

The Buyer commented;

My experience of Redwoods Dowling Kerr has been fantastic from start to finish. Since the beginning of the sale I have been thoroughly supported by the staff and Kim throughout the sale and completion process. During the sale there were issues/concerns that required assistance and advice, this was always dealt with efficiently and with continued support. I would highly recommend using this company for the future and I would personally use them if I required it. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for their support over the last 6 months.

Lead Negotiator Kim Emsley commented;

“It is such a pleasure when both the vendor and the buyer are approachable and keen to push forward during a sale. Claire has been enjoyable to work with throughout the process, and I really do wish her all the luck in the world. Michelle, who purchased the opportunity, has also done everything in her power to ensure she has provided the information that we needed. It has been apparent throughout the sale that she will succeed in her vision. I would like to wish Michelle luck with her venture and look forward to seeing the photos once the setting is finished.”
